Open House and Art Fest, 2018
MACCA collaborated with the District of Metchosin to hold an open house of the entire school property, combined with a small arts festival and a “cash and carry” sale of items from the old school. The day was hot – just right for outdoor displays and music. Many thanks to all the participants and the dedicated volunteers for their tireless efforts – the event was a big success! Proceeds from the sale were utilized by MACCA for improvements in the art centre. |

Writer’s Evening, 2016
April 14, 2016. This was the second annual evening, hosted in Glow Art Studio and Gallery. Genial emcee Dave Preston introduced five local writers: Jim Challenger, Bev Hall, Andy MacKinnon, Tom Henry and Lesley Preston. Each writer read from or described their work. Each gave a fascinating and intimate look into how writers gain inspiration, why they write, how they approach their craft, how they publish. The evening ended with light refreshments and general discussion. Photos by photos by Art Brendon |
