Visual artist studios and research lab for community engaged artistic production.
The Art Lab is home to the studios of two visual artists working across digital media, painting, performance, photography, sculpture, and video installation, as well as to their collaborative
research project affectionately known as “the lab.”
After encountering a three-eared rabbit behind their studio one evening, Blair and Laura began an investigation into the many layers of past and present lore surrounding the area in which they feel so grateful to be producing their work. This has resulted in the birth of their collaborative research which engages community and local mythology in dialogue with one another through imaginative forms of artistic production. In addition to these undertakings, the lab also produces mentorship, exhibition, and performance opportunities for fellow artists, interactive outdoor art experiences, and unexpected occasions to engage with site-specific art or to participate in creative community projects around Metchosin.
Please stay tuned for further updates from the lab as their work progresses!
This studio is not open to the public.
