Community Contributions
MACCA contributes funding and other resources for various Metchosin events, such as:
- Metchosin Community Day (annually)
- SRC’s Parisien Cafe (annually)
- Funding for the Change-Makers Gathering Festival in Langford (summer 2023)
- Funding the salmon for the Beecher Bay and District of Metchosin Reconciliation Celebration (June 21, 2017)
- Farewell sendoff for Mary and Norm Gidney (2016)
Grants-in-aid Program
The purpose of the grant program is to promote and support the practice of the arts in Metchosin. MACCA uses resources generated from various sources to support a range of art activities in Metchosin and promote our village as a destination community for the arts.

Currently, the program focuses on youth in our community. Funds are granted to the three schools servicing students in the Metchosin catchment area.

2018 | Metchosin International Summer School for the Arts (MISSA) was awarded $1000 for the provision of a bursary or bursaries to residents of Metchosin to enable them to take classes at the 2018 summer school. MISSA website. |
2017 | Brian Domney was awarded $1,000 to assist in the cost of design, layout and printing of the program and design and launch of the website for the 2017 Metchosin Sheepdog Trial. Metchosin Sheepdog Trial Facebook page. |
2016 | Larry Moss was awarded $1,000 to assist in the cost of creating and developing a community website to cover all aspects of Metchosin. MetchosinWeb.ca. Rough Voice Singers – Metchosin’s drop in singalong – were granted $750 for the purchase of a computer to use to store and project song lyrics for their twice-monthly sessions. Natasha Lefevre was awarded $1,000 as funding towards the cost of producing an album of songs by the “Owl and Vulture” music project, performing it at the Farmers Market and selling the album at local venues. Sarah Leckie, a local ceramic artist, was granted $1,000 towards the cost of a Kiln Raising residency at the Banff Centre. |
