Handbuilding with clay with Debbie Elkins

Creative Hand building with Debbie
Bring your ideas and inspiration to this creative hand-building pottery workshop! Working with slabs of clay, you’ll use your hands, pottery tools, and imagination to create two unique projects: a mask and a vase.
Over the course of the workshop, you will learn simple techniques to create one-of-a-kind pieces. We’ll explore using rollers, stamps, carving tools, and the art of adding clay to build up forms. This is an opportunity to play, experiment, and discover the joy of clay in a supportive and relaxing environment.
My own work is inspired by the beauty of nature, the love of animals, and the simple pleasures of working in my garden. The faces I create are influenced by the diversity of human expression—each one unique and full of character. My Scottish and English ancestry also shapes some of the faces and forms I make, connecting tradition with contemporary creativity.
